Through the first 11 days in August, there have been 50 new positive cases of COVID-19 in Knox County with more than half of the new cases under the age of 60.

The cases for August include 11 cases associated with the outbreak at Country Court Nursing Home which now numbers 50 residents and 19 staff. There are smaller outbreaks involving staff only at the Ohio Eastern Star Home and Country Club Retirement Center. The Ohio Department of Health classifies an outbreak as two or more cases associated with one location. There’s also an outbreak at a local business involving four employees and four family members of one of the employees.

There were only 155 people tested at the drive-thru clinic on Saturday. So far, there have been four new cases from the testing event and all four were from outside of Knox County: 2 from Morrow County and 1 each from Licking and Fairfield counties.

Free testing continues to be available at Knox Public Health and the Community Health Center, by appointment only. To make an appointment, call 740-399-8014.
